Paramhansa?God in Hindu Philosophy, is one formless supreme
power, whose will is the motor behind all order / motion in the cosmos. God has
no beginning & is endless and cannot he quantified and is intangible. God
has both male & female attributes. The male part being Shiva & the
female part being the regenerative power of God called Shakti. Both are
complimentary to each other and are redundant without the other. As the
conception of man is limited, it is therefore difficult to think of the
unlimited expanse called God & his attributes, without the aid of physical
objects. Images or idols, therefore are employed to bring the illimitable
divinity down to the level of the limited object, perceptible. It is the female
energy (Shakti) of the supreme soul (Brahm), which is deified and worshipped as
Mother Goddess.
What is the significance of the
Mother ? Mother is the one, who gives birth, sustains life and
provides security with unconditional love. The highest form of unconditional
& selfless love is the love of the mother towards her child. This divine
aspect of the female part of God called Mother Goddess is worshipped and the
devotee intends to reciprocate with his/her child like surrender & complete
faith in the mother.
What
is the importance of the Mother in Swami ji's philosophy ?The
sublimity of this relationship is seen in the life of Yogis & Saints and one
of the greatest among them, "Swami Ramakrishna Paramhansa." He lived near
Calcutta in the latter part of the 19th century and started as a simple priest
in the temple of Divine Mother called Dakshineshwar Temple. Through his simple
& sincere devotion and unequivocal faith in the divine mother aspect of God,
he rose to the greatest spiritual heights and was in constant communion with the
mother. One can still see the image of Mother Goddess, which would come to life,
to talk with her devotee Ramakrishna Paramhansa.
What is the important place

This Math is situated on the banks of the river Ganges.
