THE INDIAN WILDLIFE - 02

DAY 01: DELHI
Arrive transfer to hotel and check in.
Morning at leisure. At 1100 hrs, combined half day sightseeing of Old and New Delhi visiting the President's house, Parliament house, India Gate, Qutub minar, Humayun's Tomb and the Red Fort. Lunch at hotel. After lunch transfer to the New Delhi railway station for the train to Jabalpur. Overnight on train (2nd aircon/1st class).

DAY 02: JABALPUR TO KANHA
Morning arrive Jabalpur.
Proceed to Kanha by surface (173 kms). Late lunch in Kanha. Visit the park to view wildlife and the spectacular sunset. Overnight at the forest lodge.

DAY 03: IN KANHA
Early morning after breakfast, leave for the parrk to view the wildlife. This is the best time to see the wildlife. Jeeps and elephants are available and take you inside the park for game viewing.

Return to the forest lodge for lunch. Relax till 1430 hrs and revisit the park till sunset. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. DAY 04: IN KANHA
Jungle programme as on day 3. Visit Bagnio Dadar known as sunset point. This is one of the most beautiful areas of the park, from where a spectacular sunset can be watched. A great view of the luxuriance of Kanha's forests can best be seen from here. Overnight at the lodge.

DAY 05: KANHA TO BANDHAVGARH
After breakfast proceed to Bandhavgarh (250 kms).
Arrive by lunch time and check in at the forest lodge. After lunch leave for the National Park in a jeep to view the wildlife. Return by sunset. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 06: IN BANDHAVGARH
Early morning visit to the park to witness wild life. Return for lunch, relax and late afternoon again visit the park till sunset. Dinner and overnight at the forest lodge.

DAY 07: BANDHAVGARH TO KHAJURAHO
After breakfast proceed to Khajuraho (200 kms.) by surface. Arrive by lunch and check in at hotel. After lunch sightseeing of eastern group of temples. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 08: KHAJURAHO TO AGRA
After breakfast sightseeing of western group of temples. Return to hotel for lunch and check out. Proceed to Jhansi at 1300 hrs. PM: Airport transfer for flight to Agra. Transfer from Agra airport to hotel. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 09: AGRA TO BHARATPUR
After breakfast, sightseeing of the famous Taj Mahal and the Agra fort. Check out and proceed to Bharatpur. En route visit fatehpur Sikri (the abandoned city of the Mughal emperor akbar).

Arive Bharatpur check in at the Bharatpur forest lodge/Hotel. After lunch visit the world famous "Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary", to view one of the best bird sanctuaries of the world.
Overnight at hotel. DAY 10: BHARATPUR TO RANTHAMBORE
After breakfast proceed to Ranthambore. Arrive and check in at hotel/lodge. After lunch a visit to the park to view the spectacular scenery and the wild life, spread over 389 sq. kms, Ranthambore is situated in the state of Rajasthan. It has a tiger population of approximately 50. Blue Bull, Sambhar Deer, cheetal Deer, Sloth Bear etc roam its narrow valleys and plains. A mighty and great fort dominates the scenery and has been witness to many a battles. Overnight at hotel.


DAY 11: RANTHAMBORE
Early morning wake up call and drive to the park to witness and the wildlife at its best. Return to hotel for lunch.
PM visit the fort and the park again. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 12: RANTHAMBORE TO JAIPUR
After breakfast proceed to Jaipur. Arrive in Jaipur and check in at hotel. After lunch visit the city palace and Jantar Mantar observatory. Evening free and overnight at hotel.


DAY 13 : IN JAIPUR
After breakfast visit Amber fort situated high on a hill range that surrounds Jaipur. An elephant will take you uphill to the fort with its huge gateways and pillared pavilions. Day free and overnight at hotel.

DAY 14 : JAIPUR TO MANDAWA
After breakfast, proceed to Mandawa. Arrive and check in at the castle/ the desert resort in Mandawa. After lunch visit the town of Mandawa with its havelis (traditional houses with huge courtyards and the frescoes on the walls are worth seeing). Explore the castle Mandawa, now converted into a hotel by the rulers. Enjoy a camel ride and have dinner at the castle to the accompaniment of traditional Rajasthani music and dances.
Overnight at hotel.

DAY 15 : MANDAWA TO DELHI
After breakfast proceed to Delhi. Arrive and check in at hotel by lunch time. Day free at leisure. Overnight at hotel. (or transfer to the International airport for onward flight connection).

LADAKH MONASTERIES

DAY 1 - Arrive Delhi : :
Arrive Delhi. Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Check-in at 12 Noon. Afternoon City Tour of Old and New Delhi. Visit Qutab Minar, India Gate (War Memorial), Lakshmi Narayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple, drive past President's House, Parliament House and Secretariat Buildings. Also visit Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2 - Delhi/Leh: :
In time transfer to airport to connect flight for Leh. Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Complete day for the acclimatization which is 3500 meters above sea level. In the evening short walk around Leh bazaar. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 -Leh: :
Full day excursion to the famous monasteries, it is interesting to visit early in the morning to enjoy the praying ceremony at Thiksey monastery. Continue drive to Hemis monastery which is one of the most famous of the Ladakh region. on the way back visit to Shey Palace. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4 - Leh : :
Morning half day visit of Spituk and visit Phyang monastery. Afternoon visit by foot to Kings Palace, Leh Mosque, Leh Gompa, Shankar Gompa and Leh bazaar. Overnight at the hotel. DAY 5 - Leh : :
Full day excursion to Khardongla pass which is the highest motorable pass in the world 5600 meters and has been recorded in the Guniees Book of World Records. At the top enjoy the nature beauty of snow capped mountains. In the late afternoon return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 6 - Leh/Alchi : :
Leave for Alchi monastery known as Alchi Choskor is the only monastery in the Ladakh on flat ground. On the way visit Bazgo Castle lie on the right bank of the Indus valley. By the lunch time you reach Alchi. Afternoon visit the Alchi monastery and explore the nature beauty of Alchi village. Overnight at the hotel/guest house.

DAY 7 - Alchi/Lamayuru/Leh : :
Leave Alchi and continue drive to Lamayuru via Khaltsi (passport checking point). From here another 22 kms drive will take us to Lamayuru. The oldest and spectacularly se Lamayuru monastery founded in the 10th Century. Visit the monastery. In the late afternoon drive back to Leh which is 4/5 hours drive. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 8 - Leh : :
Morning half day visit to Stok Palace. The Palace was built by King Tsespal Tondup Namgyal in 1825. On the way back visit the Choglamsar village (The Tibetan refugee Camp) which is famous for Tibetan Culture, History and Buddhism. Afternoon day for personal activities or visit to the local Ladakhi family house which can be arranged on request. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 9 - Leh/Delhi : :
In time transfer to airport to connect flight for Delhi. Assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel (short stay).

DAY 10 - Leave Delhi : :
In time transfer to airport to connect flight for onward destination.
